By Gadget Reviews | October 7, 2008

Get the fastest and most secure internet connection available for the Wii with Nyko’s Net Connect. The Net Connect allows the Wii to easily connect to any high-speed wired internet connection. The Net Connect is a USB network adaptor that converts one of the Wii’s high speed USB ports into a Cat5 internet jack. Simply plug the Wii in to your existing network, no complicated passwords or software installation is necessary. The wired internet connection provides a safe, secure and stable internet connection for use with the Opera browser, Wii Connect 24, online with online enabled titles and other online features of the Wii.

5 Stars the connector works…
Easy to plug in and work… it connected without any difficulty. One reviewer mentioned a problem with the RJ45 connector not clicking in place to hold. Our did.
5 Stars Does what it says it does
Does everything you need it to and it’s easy to set up. If you’re looking for a wired connection for your Wii then I’d recomend this.
5 Stars Excellent little adapter.
This thing does exactly what it’s supposed to. There’s no difficulty in use, no problems with the connection, and it actually connects your Wii at 100MBs rather than the 54MBs you would get wirelessly. I used to think there was a hard cap at 54 regardless, but I was wrong. It’s especially great if you want to run a wireless-N network (which can get up to 300MBs to connected devices) but you don’t want to have to set your router to multi-broadcast (The Wii wireless only picks up wireless-G, which is the 54) and reduce your overall speed.
5 Stars Works great without dealing with wireless
My wireless router is on the 3rd floor, the Wii is on the 1st floor. For some reason, the Wii couldn’t see the wireless network, possibly due to the low signal (laptops work on the first floor, but show a weak signal).
Regardless, I didn’t want to figure out what the problem was–and I have Ethernet drops in the living room for exactly this purpose. Plugged in the LAN adapter into the Wii, plugged the Ethernet cable into the wall, reboot the Wii and tell the Wii to use it–and it’s done. DHCP works fine and the Wii can get on the Internet.
Works like it should and it’s cheap–no ridiculous mark-up here, which I had expected (especially given the mark-up on the component video cables).
5 Stars Good Product
Gave as a gift. My daughter has a poor DSL line, but this seems to work great on her Wii. We have played MarioKart on line with her and her husband and it did the trick!
Seemed pretty simply - just plug it in.
I think there may have been some setup in the Wii, but it is pretty simple, if it is like setting my my wireless.
Good Product - Good PRice. Would recommend.
